Summer time… and the living isn’t that hard, to be honest…
My goodness, it’s sweltering outside. Not much you can do except give in to the weather and loll around. That’s my excuse, anyway. Did anyone else feel mildly guilty about watching the Olympics whilst virtually horizontal on the sofa? Like we should have been, I don’t know, jogging, or hitting a ball against the wall or something instead? Still, an awesome couple of weeks – I was lucky enough to have got some tickets for the athletics in the draw and it was really a very special day. Made me very proud to be British. Can’t wait for the paralympics now – I’m getting withdrawal symptoms!
However, all this lolling around and watching other people sweat doesn’t mean I’m not writing; I am, as it happens, writing the first few chapters of The System, the third and final book in the Killables trilogy, and I’m pretty excited about it. Can’t give much away, but let’s just say that it’s very exciting – at least it’s exciting to write, which is usually a good sign.
Other than that, I’m just looking forward to the Killables mass market paperback which comes out in the Autumn. And as part of the promotional tour I’m going to be at the Bath Literary Festival on 2 October, 6pm at the Guildhall, so I hope you can come and join us… visit Bath Festival of Children’s Literature to find out more and to book tickets.
Have a great rest of the summer!
